Oksana Prociuk Leadership Scholarship

Oksana Prociuk, former BCU President & CEO, is a visionary leader in Toronto’s Ukrainian-Canadian community. This scholarship rewards leadership and academic excellence.

Specific requirements

  • Completed 1+ year of a post-secondary undergraduate program with a minimum B+ average

Frequency

  • Up to two scholarships of $2,500 awarded annually

BCU High School Scholarship

Supports high school graduates entering post-secondary education who demonstrate both academic achievement and community involvement.

Specific requirements

  • Accepted into a university or college program at an accredited post-secondary institution, with studies beginning in the upcoming academic year.

Frequency

  • Up to two scholarships of $1,500 awarded annually

Wolodymyr Klish Memorial Scholarship

Named in honor of Wolodymyr Klish, a founding member and first Chair of Buduchnist Credit Union, this scholarship recognizes students for their academic excellence and community involvement.

Specific requirements

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institution in the field of business or finance studies

Frequency

  • One $2,500 scholarship awarded annually

BCU Scholarship

This program is designed to reward a student’s combined academic achievement and active involvement in the Ukrainian-Canadian community.

Specific requirements

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institution for any area of study
  • At least one scholarship is designated for a student of Ukrainian studies

Frequency

  • Up to four scholarships of $2,000 awarded annually

BCU Founder Scholarship

Program was created to honour the 25 forward-thinking Ukrainians who immigrated to Canada and opened Buduchnist Credit Union in 1952.

Specific requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited college for any area of certificate or diploma studies

Frequency

  • Up to two scholarships of $1,500 awarded annually

BCU Nova Buduchnist Student Bursary

This bursary supports newly arrived students from Ukraine, displaced by war, who are pursuing post-secondary education in Canada.

Specific requirements

  • In Canada under the CUAET Study Permit
  • Active member through the Nova Buduchnist benefit program
  • Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate university program or college program

Frequency

  • Up to five bursaries of $1,000 awarded annually

To be eligible for the Oksana Prociuk Leadership Scholarship, Wolodymyr Klish Memorial Scholarship, BCU Scholarship, BCU Founders Scholarship, or the BCU High School Scholarship, students must:
• Submit a completed Scholarship Application with all required documents
• Be a BCU Financial member for a minimum of two (2) years
• Meet the specific criteria for the scholarship they are applying for
• Demonstrate how they are reflecting BCU Financials’ values and guiding principles through volunteerism in the Ukrainian Canadian community and supporting Ukrainian traditions, culture, and language.

To be eligible for the BCU Nova Buduchnist Student Bursary, students must:
• Submit a completed BCU Nova Buduchnist Bursary Application with all requirement documents
• Be a BCU Financial member through the Nova Buduchnist Benefit Program
• Provide documentation that indicates financial need
• Demonstrate how they are reflecting BCU Financials’ values and guiding principles through volunteerism in the Ukrainian Canadian community and supporting Ukrainian traditions, culture, and language.

BCU Financial Group Directors, and their immediate family members (spouses, children, siblings, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of a BCU Financial Group Director, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate in the BCU Scholarship and Student Bursary Program.

BCU Financial recognizes the importance of education and volunteerism in shaping our youth’s character and empowering them to build a better future. BCU Financial awards scholarships every year to members of our Credit Union who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate university program or college program and demonstrate both academic achievement and community leadership.

When completing the Scholarship Application Form, students may choose 1 or multiple scholarships to apply for. All scholarship required documentation, which may be different depending on which scholarship is being applied for, must be submitted to be eligible.

Students who receive a Nova Buduchnist Student Bursary or a High School Scholarship are eligible to apply for an Oksana Prociuk Leadership Scholarship, Wolodymyr Klish Memorial Scholarship, BCU Scholarship, BCU Founders Scholarship in the future.

Students who receive an Oksana Prociuk Leadership Scholarship, Wolodymyr Klish Memorial Scholarship, BCU Scholarship or BCU Founders Scholarship are not eligible to apply for or receive an additional scholarship from BCU in the future.

BCU Financial awards scholarships every year to members of our Credit Union who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate university program or college program and demonstrate both academic achievement and community leadership.
