Since 2014, Ukraine has defended its land, identity, and future. On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion, aiming to break us, but instead, they faced a nation that fought back.
On February 24, 2025, we mark 3 years since the full-scale attack, but it’s important to remember that Ukraine has not been left in peace for 11 years. Thousands of heroes gave their lives for independence. Millions of Ukrainians continue fighting on the frontlines, through volunteer work, and in their daily lives. And while this war is going on, BCU Financial continues to stand with our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and will stand as long as necessary supporting them with crucial supplies and humanitarian aid.
We will not forget. We will not forgive. We will not stop until victory is ours.
Glory to the Heroes! Glory to Ukraine!
On November 27th, 2024, the Ontario Legislature celebrated a milestone with the second reading of Bill 215, the Ukrainian Heritage Month Act, 2024, introduced by MPP Sheref Sabawy. This bill officially designates September as Ukrainian Heritage Month, a time to honor the contributions and culture of Ukrainian-Canadians across the province.
BCU Financial and BCU Foundation were proud to attend this significant event and stand alongside the Ukrainian-Canadian community. We celebrate this achievement as a testament to the tireless efforts of those who have advocated for recognition of our shared heritage.
Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this happen. Together, we continue to celebrate and preserve the rich legacy of Ukrainian culture in Ontario.
On the Day of Ukrainian Independence, BCU Financial stands proudly with our brothers and sisters in Ukraine in the fight against the illegal Russian invasion. Ukrainians continue to demonstrate high levels of resilience, courage, and strength to the world. We are united in our common struggle for independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

BCU Financial was one of the sponsors of the inaugural event of the “Invincible When United” fundraising tour in Toronto, a collaborative effort of the Ukrainian World Congress and the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, held on February 11 at the Old Mill Toronto.
Over 400 attendees attended the event, including local authorities, politicians and members of the Ukrainian community. BCU Financial was represented by the staff members, senior management and members of the Board of Directors. The funds raised during this event will purchase armoured vehicles for safe humanitarian demining in southern Ukraine. Alexandra Chyczij, the President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), moderated the event, emphasizing the importance of uniting the efforts of Ukrainians living abroad to help Ukraine overcome its challenges.
The event included reports of the fundraising work done through the past 2 years since the full-scale invasion by UWC President Paul Grod and Serhiy Prytula. Attendees were presented with a short video and participated in a question-and-answer session. The discussion covered various topics, including the volunteer movement, support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the latest developments on the frontline.
