BCU Financial Supports A Young Chess Star From Ukraine Arkady Tenkov

BCU Financial was proud to support a young, talented Ukrainian chess player, Arkady Tenkov, in his participation in the Canadian Youth Chess Championship 2023 which took place on July 19-22, 2023, in Calgary. Arkady demonstrated a brilliant level and finished 8th out of 88 players from all over Canada in his age group.

Arkady (11 years old) is a professional chess player from Ukraine that is currently living in Toronto due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. He made his debut in tournaments at the age of 7 and has successfully participated in many tournaments since then, holds the title of 1st adult category player in Ukraine, and has a FIDE rating. After moving to Canada, Arkady continues to play chess and is a member of the oldest chess club in Toronto, the ANNEX CHESS CLUB. We would like to congratulate Arkady and his family on this successful debut and wish him the best of luck in his chess career in Canada!
