BCU Financial is a proud sponsor of the Matura graduation ceremony, celebrating the achievements of students in the Ukrainian Canadian School Board schools across the GTA. We celebrated the achievements of the graduates from the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Heritage School, St. Volodymyr Ukrainian School, Ivan Franko Ukrainian Schools in Mississauga and Oshawa, Yuriy Lypa Ukrainian School, Nova Shkola, Ridna Shkola, Pavlo Yuzyk Academy and  Lesia Ukrainka Ukrainian School of Ottawa.

BCU Financial is committed to supporting the many projects that promote a deeper awareness and understanding of Ukrainian history, traditions and language. We understand the importance of education, preserving our history, and bringing up new generations of leaders in the community. Our Ukrainian schools are instrumental in preserving ethnic traditions and building meaningful relationships that will last for many years.

BCU Financial presented each student with a silver trident – tryzub – pendant, Ukraine’s national symbol, that will serve as a reminder of their Ukrainian heritage and a $100 voucher for their BCU accounts. In addition, BCU Foundation sponsored the Literature Awards, valued at $250 per recipient and given to worthy students who stand out in studying Ukrainian literature. The graduation ceremony took place at the Pearson Convention Center this year, and BCU Financial Group was represented by Nadiia Gereliouk, Member of the Board of Directors of BCU Foundation, who greeted the students on behalf of our Buduchnist family.

We are very proud of this year’s graduates and wish them all the best in their future paths! May the knowledge gained at our local Ukrainian schools be a valuable asset in their future! Our special gratitude goes out to the teachers! You are true role models – providing our youth with life skills and inspiring the youth to become leaders in our local communities.
